Our Story
Barena Group was incorporated in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 23 September 2011. Our core business is the trade of natural and synthetic rubber, and creating business value for our clients, suppliers and partners through enterprising selection of materials and procedures. Since our establishment, we focus mainly on promoting Southeast Asian natural rubber to countries in Europe, Middle East and Asia.
Till date, we have acquired memberships at various rubber associations around the globe. Our ambition to participate in upstream and downstream activities in the rubber industry first motivated us to be registered as a member of Malaysian Rubber Board (Lembaga Getah Malaysia), an association pivotal in the development and modernization of the Malaysian rubber business. With Singapore as a major rubber trading hub, our membership at International Rubber Study Group provides us the latest rubber statistics and world rubber industry outlooks. Subsequently, we joined the Rubber Trade Association of Europe to support our participation in the Europe market.
Who we are?
Our History
Prior to the establishment of Barena Group, we began as a center for collecting cup lumps in 2010. Being the very first — and till date, the only — international firm to hold an MRB official license to own and run cup lump collection centers, we quickly expanded from one to six collection centers in northern and central Malaysia.
Dealing directly with the farmers, we started supplying raw material to many well-known rubber factories in Malaysia. Soon after becoming a reputable supplier to the rubber manufacturers and due to their increasing demands, we started importing cup lump and block rubber from southern Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam to Malaysia.
Later in September 2011, equipped with a reliable supply chain, we took a big step forward by entering the challenging world of global rubber trade. To pursue this goal, Barena Group was founded with aims to be a leading figure in the rubber industry.
Since then, Barena Group has played an essential role in the supply chain and we now acquire natural and synthetic rubber from producers and distribute these to the industry globally, mainly to tire manufacturers and rubber goods producers. Our knowledge and expertise coupled with our years of experience in this industry have provided us with a strong network of producers and transportation providers to give our customers the highest quality products and the most reliable service.
